These are trying times for all of us, and the last 6 weeks have been especially challenging for our local service ministry partners. Pivot Ministries and the Bridgeport Rescue Mission have continued to serve their residents and surrounding communities throughout the pandemic.
Covenant has put together a list of drop off locations for your donations. To locate a drop off location near you, click HERE.
Bridgeport Rescue Mission
The Mission serves not only their residents but also many families in the greater Bridgeport area. Since the start of the pandemic, they have not been operating their mobile kitchen, and have instead been giving out bags of food to local families. Their need for donations has been increasing weekly and they have requested our help with several of the key items provided in the "bag lunches". Items needed are: Cereal; Peanut butter, Jelly - in plastic containers only; Canned Beef Stew; Canned Chili; Canned Tuna; and Boxes of Mac & Cheese.
Pivot has been particularly impacted by the pandemic, as they lost their spiritual Director last week to Covid-19, and 2 other members of their leadership team have also contracted the virus. Additionally, their support network has been negatively affected, and many of their normal resources are not available at this time. Typically they send their residents out to do shopping for food and cleaning supplies, but given the current circumstances, all residents are sheltering in place to minimize the spread of illness. They have asked us for Toilet paper; Paper towels; Gloves (XL); Disinfecting wipes; Masks (handmade or purchased), Lysol Spray, Laundry Detergent (scented).
Mercy Learning Center
Are you sewing masks? Mercy Learning Center in Bridgeport is collecting masks for their community. Currently, the Center is not open, but they are offering food and masks to their community.
No matter who you are or where you are in life’s journey, we invite you to join us as we seek God together. We welcome you with your gifts, your pain, your experiences, a mind ready to engage and a heart open to discover. We would love for you to gather with us, engage together curiously about God and this life we share together in this world of His and ours.
Church isn’t a physical address but people in authentic friendship Loving God, Growing Together, and Serving Others.
