Welcome to Covenant Youth!

We are a group of people living life together trying to figure out what it means when God says that He is for us, and when He expresses a desire for us to live fully. We would love for you to be a part of our experiment in creating a community that cares about God, each other, and the world. We aim to be a group of friends who disproves the common understanding of life with God as boring, pointless, and lifeless. Hopefully this gives you a hint about us, but it really doesn’t tell you much since we are about relationship, joy, hope, journeying together, exploring where God leads . . . All things that can’t be explained in print. Grab a friend and join us to discover who we really are!

To find out more about our youth and young adult activities, contact Pastor Debbie Packnick at (203) 668-5350.

JHAMS | 6-8th Grade

Junior High Youth Group
Wednesdays 6:45 PM (during the school year)
Doesn’t it seem like every time you get a large group of middle schoolers together it turns into a party on the verge of chaos?  It’s a beautiful thing, isn’t it?  An age that is the butt of lame adult jokes (driven by adult fear) we at Covenant choose to celebrate as one of the greatest times of life.  At an age of great honesty and willingness to do whatever — we look at how revolutionary Jesus is and the risks that He asks us to take in our lives.  When people are taking their shots, we are building a community that truly cares for each other, whoever you are.  In other words, we want to love like Jesus in the midst of those who doubt and shun this stage of life.

Foundations
Covenant's Confirmation Class
Sundays 9:30 AM (during the school year)
Our confirmation/discipleship program seeks to help build a foundation of faith by doing a wide study of what the Bible says about God.  This one-year program for middle-school students provides an overview of the Christian faith, engaging students in conversations about life, faith, and Jesus.  There is an emphasis on studying God’s Word daily, while integrating prayer and reflection through journaling and other spiritual disciplines.  We provide intergenerational and cultural diversity learning opportunities through our mentoring program, guest speakers, field trips and experiences in worshipping God in other faith communities.

OASIS | 9-12 Grade

High School Youth Group
Wednesdays 6:45 PM (during the school year)

Laid back, casually catching up with each other, enjoying healthy (and not so healthy) snacks, playing fun and ridiculous games.  Anyone for egg roulette?  Teaching on topics that challenge our thinking about faith and life, discovering God’s perspective, discussing our thoughts on God’s thoughts, honest conversations with friends.  This is a glimpse of our youth group gatherings.

Going Out as Servants
Our Jr. High and High School youth and Young Adults engage frequently in local, national, and international service projects with ministries like the Appalachian Service Project (ASP), Urban Impact, Under the Bridge, Samaritans Purse, and more.

Young Adult Ministry

Debbie Packnick — Associate Pastor / Director of Student and Young Adult Ministries
Debbie joined the Covenant Church of Easton in the summer of 2015, and she and her husband Rob quickly fell in love with the people and the mission of the church: Loving God, Growing Together, Going Out as Servants. Debbie is actively engaged in the life of Covenant through Prayer Ministry, Bible studies, service and mission projects, and weekly connections with the youth, young adults, and adults in our faith family. She earned her bi-vocational ministry license through the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) in 2020, her seminary degree from North Park University in 2023, and her ordination in the ECC in June of 2024. All the while, she has continued to serve as director of the Mother’s Day Out Preschool in Trumbull, which ministers to nearly 100 families and children each year throughout Fairfield County.

In her free time, Pastor Debbie likes to cheer on students at their sports games or high school plays, and you’ll frequently find her at Starbucks or Chick-fil-A catching up with them over coffee or lunch.  Whether it’s serving the homeless, riding a roller coaster, or gathering for a group prayer, Pastor Debbie loves helping youth and young adults connect their everyday lives to the things of God and their true purpose.

Debbie and Rob live in Shelton where they raised their 3 children: Kyle, Craig, and Alison, all of whom are now young adults living in Fairfield County. Kyle and his wife Tess live in Trumbull, Craig (also a pastor) and his wife Hanna live in Norwalk, and Ally lives in Southport.
